Prepare

Emergency planning

A plan decides who does what, where you go, and how you reconnect, before stress makes it harder.

What your plan should cover

  • Two meeting places: near home and outside your neighborhood.
  • An out-of-area contact everyone can call or text.
  • Evacuation routes and where you will stay.
  • Plans for children, older adults, pets, and anyone with medical needs.
  • Where important documents and medications are kept.

Review it

Walk through the plan with everyone in your household and update it when anything changes.
